Join Isamu Noguchi scholar Deborah Goldberg and curator Dakin Hart of The Noguchi Museum in Long Island City (opened by the artist in 1985) to explore the career of this legendary New York-based artist and designer. Focusing on his work in New York City, they will discuss realized and unrealized projects, including his playground designs, his "Sunken Garden" for Chase Manhattan Plaza, and his iconic public sculpture “Red Cube” at 140 Broadway. Noguchi’s furniture and lamps are still in production today and he was also an active designer for the stage, working with Martha Graham, George Balanchine and John Cage.

This event is co-sponsored by The Noguchi Museum.
