From the Faculty Lounge: Dandies and Romantics

Experience the liberal arts in action with “From the Faculty Lounge”— a series of interdisciplinary conversations with Barnard faculty who share intersecting interests. We launch the first event of the series with Dandies and Romantics, a lively discussion between Monica L. Miller, associate professor of English and Africana studies, and Caroline Weber, associate professor of French. The evening will cover topics of fashion, ranging from the political impact made by Marie Antoinette’s clothing choices to how “black dandies” play with identity and alter expectations. Miller and Weber are guaranteed to delve into pop culture, historical trends, music icons, and more.
