Festival of Contemporary Russian Jewish American Culture

This all-day Festival of Contemporary Russian Jewish American Culture to launch the special issue of the journal East European Jewish Affairs will feature opening remarks by guest editor Anna Katsnelson (Columbia University), and panels as follows: Anna Shternshis (University of Toronto) who will moderate a scholarly roundtable on current issues in the field of Russian Jewish American cultural production that will include Barry Beckerman, Inga Veksler, Jeffrey Taylor, Karolina Krasuska, Anna Katsnelson, and Maggie Levantovskaya. Anna Katsnelson will moderate a writers’ panel with Ellen Litman, Polina Barskova, Eugene Yelchin, Lara Vapnyar, Irina Reyn, and Boris Sandler. David Shneer (University of Colorado Boulder) will moderate a Visual Arts panel, including Alina Bliumis, Anya Ulinich, Yulia Levitt, Julia Loktev, Artem Mirolevich, and Misha Korosty. The festival will culminate with a musical performance by Svetlana Shmulyan.
