In Focus: The Leadership of Formerly Incarcerated Women

A panel of expert leaders will discuss their personal experiences with incarceration, reentry and the needs of women and girls who are involved in the system. Panelists Kandra Clark, Strategic Partnerships Liaison & Senior Grant Writer, The Fortune Society; Leyla Martinez, Founder & President, Beyond the Box Initiative; Vivian Nixon, Executive Director, College & Community Fellowship and Topeka K. Sam, Founder and Executive Director of The Ladies of Hope Ministries will also discuss the important role that formerly incarcerated women play in criminal justice reform and ending mass incarceration.

Dr. Alethea Taylor, CRC, Professor, Director of Internship Development, Hunter College – School of Education/Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling, moderates the discussion.

Ana Oliveira, President and CEO of The New York Women’s Foundation, will give remarks.
