Formerly Fundamentalist NYC: “New York State Education for Religious Children: A Parent’s Perspective” with Beatrice Weber

Beatrice Weber was raised in the Ultra-Orthodox community and was married off to a Rabbi in an arranged marriage when she was 18 years old, never having graduated high school. She is now a mother of ten children and grandmother of five.

Beatrice recently filed a lawsuit against the religious school her son attends in Brooklyn and the NYC Board of Education contending that he was not receiving an adequate education. She’ll discuss why she is passionate about this issue and the community dynamics that have made it necessary for her to file this lawsuit.

Free and walk-ins are welcome. But RSVPs are appreciated so we know how many people to expect: https://bit.ly/2oimuSG
