Leuchtenburg is William Rand Kenan Jr. Professor Emeritus of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the author of The American President: From Teddy Roosevelt to Bill Clinton. Geoffrey C. Ward is the script writer for the documentary series The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, which was directed by Ken Burns—his collaborator since 1984.
