NYC Pride’s GameChangers, in partnership with GLAAD and SVA Theatre, is a thrilling event that focuses on leaders of the LGBTQIA+ community and how they have ultimately changed the game in the entertainment industry.
It will be a night of great discussion while also celebrating the successes of those that have paved the way and continue to impact change.
With a curated Q&A after the panel discussion, a networking reception will follow to end the evening.
George Takei and Leyna Bloom join the panel at GameChangers
With an acting career spanning six decades, George Takei is known around the world for his founding role in the acclaimed television series, Star Trek.
From a childhood spent with his family wrongfully imprisoned in Japanese American internment camps during World War II, to becoming one of the country’s leading figures in the fight for social justice and LGBTQ rights, Takei remains a powerful voice on issues ranging from politics to pop culture.
Leyna Bloom is a biracial transgender actor, model and pioneer for trans people of color in the fashion and film industries.
In October 2017, Bloom became the first trans woman of color to appear in Vogue India and in early 2018, she gained international attention for her viral campaign to be the first trans model to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway show, advocating for the inclusion of all body types.
