Getting an Edge: What Can Law Teach Sport and Sport Teach Law(yers)?

New York Law School will host an all-day, non-traditional symposium: Getting an Edge: What Can Law Teach Sport and Sport Teach Law(yers)? moderated by Professor Robert Blecker, a leading commentator during the NFL’s “Deflategate” controversy who also covered the 2016 Olympics for the Observer. Professor Blecker’s op-ed on President Trump and the NFL, “What Football Needs Is Another Teddy Roosevelt,” ran last week in the Wall Street Journal.

The group, which will include Marc Lasry ’84, Principal Owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, and other leading philosophers of sport, including an Olympic silver medalist, will engage in unscripted, informal, and occasionally contentious give-and-take among themselves and with the audience, frequently interrupted and spurred to react to video clips of notorious and controversial moments from professional sport and the Olympics.
