The Glimmerglass Festival: An American Tragedy with Tobias Picker

Francesca Zambello moderates a discussion with composer Tobias Picker, librettist Gene Scheer, director Kate Whoriskey, conductor George Manahan, set designer Alexander Dodge and lighting designer Robert Wierzel. Inspired by a murder in the Adirondacks, the opera is based on Theodore Dreiser’s novel of the same name. Excerpts of the new “Glimmerglass version” of An American Tragedy will be performed.
