To Grad School or Not To Grad School?

In a time of increasing tuition costs, economic troubles, the debate over the value of a graduate degree is one that many people grapple with. The Strand presents a special panel in honor of Should I Go to Grad School?: 41 Answers to An Impossible Question. Joining us for the evening are Simon Critchley, Professor of Philosophy at The New School For Social Research, whose most recent book is Stay, Illusion!; Amy O’Leary, reporter for The New York Times; and Nikil Saval, editor at n+1, and author of Cubed: A Secret History of The Workplace. Moderating will be Jessica Loudis, editor of Should I Go To Grad School? Jessica’s work has also appeared in Bookforum, The New Republic and The Believer, among other publications.

They’ll discuss the pros and cons of attending grad school and weigh in on the possibilities available both with and without a graduate degree.
