Graywolf Press at 45: A Celebration

Graywolf was founded in 1974, as a small press which issued limited-edition hand-sewn poetry chapbooks—but it has since grown into one of the country’s most formidable and renowned nonprofit publishers. The authors and books on its roster have garnered some of the world’s most prestigious literary prizes, including the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. Most recently, the Graywolf novel Milkman by Anna Burns won the prestigious 2018 Man Booker Prize.

The National Arts Club is proud to present a 45th anniversary celebration of Graywolf’s stellar poetry list, co-sponsored by the Poetry Society of America and hosted by the Society’s executive director, Alice Quinn. Featured readers will include Catherine Barnett (Human Hours), Ilya Kaminsky (Deaf Republic), Layli Long Soldier (WHEREAS), Vijay Seshadri (3 Sections), and Monica Youn (Blackacre).

Free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first-served. An RSVP is not required.
