Green Green-Wood Trolley Tour

green-wood-logo-2Green-Wood is an urban oasis and a place of magnificent horticultural design, dating back to its original landscape plan of 1838. In fact, the cemetery is the oldest intact landscape in all of New York City. Visitors are invited to discover this magnificent natural setting, while also learning about many of its permanent residents who played a role in its development. The cemetery’s chief engineer and architect, David Bates Douglass, the Weir family (namesake of the historic Weir greenhouse and florist) will be included in the tour, along with many others. Green-Wood’s Curator of Plant Collections Joe Charap and historian Jeff Richman lead an exploration of its 478 acres of historic greenspace.

The trolley tour is $25; $20 for members of the Green-Wood Historic Fund and members of the Brooklyn Historical Society. Reservations are recommended. If the trolley tour is not sold out, walk-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
