One of the most spectacular sites of Roman antiquity, Hadrian’s Villa is best known for its extravagant architecture and innumerable sculptures and mosaics. By focusing on newly discovered areas within the complex, Columbia University’s excavations have retrieved a multitude of unexpected findings that shed light on hitherto overlooked aspects of the long and multi-faceted life of this extraordinary complex.
