The Happier Hour: Philosophy to Make Your Life Suck Less | Creativity

This Month: CREATIVITY

“One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.”―Friedrich Nietzsche

“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”―Sylvia Plath

Are some people born more creative than others? How do our emotions influence our creativity? What can we do to encourage creativity in our daily lives? Join us for another round of lively philosophical conversations about these questions and more at this month’s The Happier Hour on CREATIVITY.

Speakers: Gwenda-lin Grewal, Adam Valen Levinson, and Amber Baldet

The Happier Hour is a monthly event series bringing philosophy out of the ivory tower of academia and into our modern day agora: the bar. It’s like the self-help section–only way funnier, smarter, and with booze. #thehappierhour

Doors 6:30pm, show 7:00pm.

Monica McCarthy loves meaningful dialogues, beginning with her career as an actress on Broadway and in television and film, then and as the impresaria for communities like Holstee, Impact Hub, 92Y, and Escape The City, where she has curated and facilitated thousands at least a couple hundred events focused on purpose and interdisciplinary connections.  Monica also believes philosophy shouldn’t be boring and is the creator and host of philosophical and literary events including Cheshire Parlour (a monthly philosophic dinner salon), Philosophy & Cocktails, and The Write DrunkMonica is a professional speaker on the topic of purpose in an angst-ridden era, and consults with organizations wishing to deepen their messaging and connection with their communities.  Monica is currently writing two books and a play, and procrastinates doing both by researching plane tickets. She also used to be blonde and can neither confirm nor deny if they have more fun. @MissMcCarthy
