Haudenosaunee Women’s Influence on the Women’s Rights Movement

We celebrate the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote in the United States — and the fact that women of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy have exercised political voice in this land for 1,000 years. Living in a society in which they were equals, the Haudenosaunee women were the model for early suffragists like Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Matilda Joslyn Gage. Join us as we learn more about this amazing confluence of cultures and honor our Haudenosaunee Sisters for their inspiration and guidance.
