Hilton Als is a theater critic for The New Yorker and the author of two novels, THE WOMEN and WHITE GIRLS, which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. He is an associate professor of writing at Columbia University School of the Arts and has taught at Yale, Wesleyan and Smith. He’ll read excerpts from a new work of fiction he’s composing about black masculinity and fatherhood called RICHARD PRYOR: A NOVEL.
