A walking tour through the historic Lower East Side traces the neighborhood's transformation from one of the world's most densely populated immigrant districts to the present day. Led by a seasoned guide, the tour visits surviving synagogues — some repurposed as galleries, churches, and event spaces — alongside bathhouses, tenement sites, and significant landmarks, while exploring the history of Jewish immigration, neighborhood life, and the stores, pushcarts, and institutions that once defined these streets.
Along the way, participants sample traditional Jewish and Chinese foods, including rugelach, pickles, knishes, and dumplings.
