ICP Talks: Farah Al Qasimi

This October, join ICP in conversation with Farah Al Qasimi for our seasonal lecture series ICP Talks.

Farah Al Qasimi is a photographer, artist, and filmmaker exploring consumerism, gender, class, and multi-cultural identities that exist within and between the U.S. and the Persian Gulf, more specifically the United Arab Emirates where she was raised. Deploying a maximalist aesthetic with bright, vibrant colors, her still lifes and portraits capture cultural traditions and individual style behind seemingly ordinary moments within American and Persian gulf communities. For her ICP Talks, Al Qasimi will discuss her expansive practice including recent collaboration with Public Art Fund that showcased her photographs of street scenes, interiors of local bodegas, and people from across NYC, on over 100 city bus stations around the city.

This program is being offered both in person at ICP, located on NYC’s Lower East Side, and online. Tickets to attend the conversation in person are $5 and do not include access to ICP’s galleries.
