Author and art historian Nicholas Nicholson will explore the history of dining in New York, from the cultural fusion that was Niewe Amsterdam to the extravagant excess of the Gilded Age.  Using the Tredwell family as a point of reference, Nicholson will examine the special relationship New Yorkers have always had with food, and the way New Yorkers entertained in the 19th Century.
