In Focus: The Impact of Policy on Trans Lives

Political reporter and fellow of The New York Women’s Foundation Imara Jones, whose work has won Emmy and Peabody Awards, will assess the current impact of government policies on trans lives and forecast what to expect in 2019, in dynamic conversation with social justice LGBTQI advocates from Callen-Lorde, FIERCE and other community leaders.

The evening will feature a screening of TransLash, a four-part docuseries that examines what it’s like to transition genders at a time of social backlash through the gender journey of Ms. Jones. TransLash explores where we are on trans rights in 2018 and what this says about life in modern America.

Presented by The New York Women’s Foundation and Transgender Law Center.
