In Lieu of the Hand: Louise Bourgeois’s Holograms

Join us for a conversation with artist Matthew Schreiber and Chris McGlinchey, MoMA’s Sally and Michael Gordon Senior Conservation Scientist, about the fabrication of Louise Bourgeois’s holograms.

In Lieu of the Hand is a discussion series about the making and maintenance of art from the perspective of museum conservators, emphasizing artworks in which the artist’s hand is not always directly responsible for the “final” object, and the stories of those who work behind the scenes to complete these works. This spring’s conversations will focus on artworks in the exhibition New Order: Art and Technology in the Twenty-First Century. Meet in the New Order galleries on Floor 2.
