How did New Yorkers celebrate the 4th of July 200 years ago? In 1826, Washington Square Park, former burial ground of yellow fever victims--became the site for the city's rousing Independence Day Golden Jubilee celebration with lots of liquor and song. Bring lunch; coffee and tea is on them! Free with museum admission.
