Indie Movie Monday launches its screening series with And Through the Portal We Go, the debut feature from Astoria filmmakers Mike and Allison Moy Hayhurst, in partnership with Ladies First Astoria.

Katie, Craig, and Mikey are the last three members of a cult who have spent years preparing to achieve transcendence by stepping through a glowing portal in the woods — only to find themselves looping back to the start of the previous day, Groundhog Day style. Equal parts dark comedy, fantasy, and cult satire, the film is a genre-bending exploration of faith, friendship, and self-discovery, shot in nine days with a nine-person cast and crew.
