Join Yiddish Master Teacher Nikolai “Kolya” Borodulin of the Workmen’s Circle and go from bupkes to bilingual!
This engaging and dynamic workshop makes Yiddish accessible for students of all ages through vocabulary, conversation, and poetry.
No prior Yiddish knowledge necessary. Even complete beginners will be able to follow! You’ll be surprised how much Yiddish you know already.

 Nikolai, aka Kolya Borodulin was born in Birobidzhan (capital city of still existing Jewish Autonomous Region), Russia. He came to US in 1992 and received his MA in Yiddish Program at Columbia University. He worked at YIVO library as a cataloger of Yiddish literature and periodicals. Kolya is the master teacher and director of Yiddish programming at the Workmen’s Circle in New York, the largest Yiddish language program in the US. He teaches Yiddish language and culture to multi-generational audiences: kids, teens, and adults (sometimes four generations together), nationally and internationally, and is credited with giving hundreds of Yiddishists their foundation in the language. His dynamic style has garnered a growing fan base across the United States and beyond. He is the organizer of the Trip to Yiddishland program and Yiddish programming coordinator at KlezKanada. He runs online, live international Yiddish classes at the Workmen’s Circle, where students from 17 countries and throughout United States took Yiddish online classes last spring 2018 semester.

Borodulin enjoys sharing fascinating treasures of East European Jewish Heritage, namely mameloshn, the Yiddish language, through new technology, which helps to connect past with present and future effectively.
He is the author of Yiddish Year Round: A Curriculum for the Young Beginners and a number of Yiddish educational materials for children.
