It’s 1971 in a remote forest near Manila, where Sister Lourdes (Jodi Sta. Maria) arrives to join a cloister of nuns— in theory separated from the outside world— at the convent Adoration. A violent incident interrupts the routines of her new life and tests the faith of her and her sisters, while the Mother Superior remains in denial. The political turmoil sweeping the country trickles in on a radio and through news of a missing family member. In the months leading up to President Ferdinand Marcos’s declaration of martial law, nobody is untouchable.
