In celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage, The Museum of The City of New York is putting together a free event geared towards families with children ages 6-12.

Activities

Create flags representing the Caribbean islands

Design traditional Quisqueyan masks

Enjoy Jamaican snacks following a cooking demo by Kay Excell of Mighty Edible

Sing and dance to the beat of Dominican folk music artist Irka Mateo (4:30–5:30 pm)

Explore our newest exhibitions, Folk City: New York and the Folk Music Revival and Hip Hop Revolution: Photographers by Janette Beckman, Joe Conzo, and Martha Cooper
