Israel Forum | Is It Fair?: Israel in the Media

The media’s coverage of Israel has long been the source of complaints of bias. The question is: from which side? Are journalists too critical of Israel, or too lenient? What can we learn from the tensions surrounding media coverage of Israel about the broader information / “fake news” blizzard that we’re all living in now? Matti Friedman, whose writing about media coverage of Israel has triggered intense discussion on the topic, will be joined by Ethan Bronner, who served as the New York Times’ Jerusalem bureau chief before becoming the paper’s deputy national editor (until 2015), in a conversation moderated by Susie Linfield, author of The Lions’ Den: Zionism and the Left from Hannah Arendt to Noam Chomsky, for the latest installment of the Israel Forum.

The Israel Forum is a seated cocktail party devoted to dialogue across difference in which the community becomes part of the conversation, over wine and light fare.

Made possible by the Wechsler Family.
