In 1968 Miles Davis began exploring the unconventional idea of electrical instrumentations on his records. With each new record, his explorations became bolder and more experimental, incorporating rhythms, textures and sounds not previously heard in jazz. Using rare materials from the library’s archival collections, Librarian Dave McMullin presents the story of a fascinating and challenging period in the career of one of 20th century American music’s great masters.
