When: Sat, Jul 21, 2012 at 6:00pm - 6:00pm
Where: Cornelia Street Cafe
29 Cornelia St.
Two longstanding arbiters of all things cultural pause to reflect on their Jewish roots.
Robin Hirsch is the author of the award-winning memoir, Last Dance at the Hotel Kempinski, the solo performance cycle, MOSAIC: Fragments of a Jewish Life and, with the collaboration and interference of his children, FEG: Stupid Poems for Intelligent Children. He is currently working on a short story collection drawn from thirty-five years of running the Cornelia Street Cafe, provisionally titled, THE WHOLE WORLD PASSES THROUGH.
Verga is the author of six poetry books, and his poems have been translated & anthologized widely. Tonight Angelo will explore his maternal roots, including a hard-pressed circuitous courtship of the divine presence in its female form. Or perhaps not.
