Kauila Kanaka’ole in “Fahu Goes East”

Chen Dance Center presents “Fahu Goes East,” a one-man dance/theatre show created and performed by Kauila Kanaka’ole, member of a legendary Hawaiian family of hula and chant practitioners.  Through dance, story, unapologetic truths and irreverent humor, Kauila tells a tale of family, fashion and a search for freedom. The work-in-progress was commissioned by Chen Dance Center in celebration of Asian/Pacific-American Heritage Month.
