Kharabat Vol. 1 Launch + Conversation

Join us for the launch of Kharabat Vol. 1 by Tehran-based artist Farhad Qashqai, published by Khajistan Press.

Kharabat Vol. 1, a found photo book curated by Tehran-based artist and archivist Farhad Qashqai, explores the lives and aesthetics of Iran’s Lūtis—working-class men whose intimate, defiant, and hypermasculine presence echoes across both real and digital worlds. Sourced from personal archives and contemporary social media, Kharabat documents a subculture where bodybuilders pose with pigeons, men hold hands, embrace, and age-old codes of respect endure.

The evening will feature a live conversation with curator Farhad Qashqai, joining remotely, and editor Saad Khan, present to sign copies.
