La Cantata dei Pastori (The Shepherd’s Cantata)

Go back in time to Southern Italy with Alessandra Belloni and I Giullari di Piazza when they present their traditional family show “La Cantata dei Pastori,” complete with devils, dragons, stilt walker, hilarious commedia dell’arte character, singers, dancers, and musicians. Performed in Italian with English narration by La Befana, the Good Witch of Christmas, the show stars renowned singer/percussionist Alessandra Belloni as Mary in this beloved 17th century story of Mary and Joseph journeying to Bethlehem, and their many escapades. The show ends with a company singing of the oldest recorded Neapolitan Christmas carol.
