LGBT Art Gallery Tour in Chelsea

Socialize with culturally adventurous gay men & lesbians (and open-minded straights) on our LGBT gallery tour in Chelsea. See the very latest artwork by gay and lesbian artists: painting, sculpture, electronic media and photography.

Highlights: gay Israeli artist Nir Arieli, who will speak to us when we see his innovative infrared photos of male dancers, plus original, provocative sculptures by a Canadian gay man who is increasingly recognized as one of the 21st century’s most groundbreaking artists.

There are currently no lesbian exhibits showing in Chelsea (next month there will be), so this tour will include four shows by gay men and two to three shows by straight women, for a total of seven exhibits.

Our guide, who taught gay studies, helps explain the artwork and leads the group in lively discussion. The tour takes place Sat. Feb. 15, 1 p.m., no matter what the weather – rain, snow or shine (the art is all indoors). Meet at 526 W. 26th St. (10th avenue).
