Until this summer’s scandal, many Americans – even business school students – had never heard of LIBOR. Yet this index for interest rates can profoundly affect the life of anyone who carries student loans or hopes to buy a home. Revelations that Barclays and other leading banks were manipulating LIBOR to their own advantage should worry anyone who is concerned about the integrity of financial markets. Join Baruch College’s Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity as we host New York Times business reporter Peter Eavis for a discussion of the recent LIBOR manipulation scandal and the future of the international benchmark.
