Lindsay Magazine Issue Number Two Launch (WILLIAMSBURG)

Join us to celebrate the launch of Lindsay Issue No. 2, the magazine that documents the importance of culture and place. In this second issue, we meet Oscar-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, NASA astronaut Stephanie Wilson and Croatian painter Stipe Nobilo. Ukrainian contemporary artist Stanislava Pinchuk writes about how textiles have acted as a voice for women around the world, Barcelona photographer Olga de la Iglesia captures the fashions of Jerez’s famed Spanish festival, Olivia Dennis explores how the French have so diligently preserved their language, and we learn how to cook up the ultimate Korean barbecue. And that’s just the beginning.

All the way from Melbourne, Australia, Lindsay founder and editor Beth Wilkinson will join us in New York to speak about her adventure self-publishing. We’ll also hear from Australian-Serbian writer Sofija Stefanovic (author of Miss Ex-Yugoslavia) who will read her piece on nostalgia and place, New York-based Kajal editor Nadya Agrawal who will read her piece about her search for Indo-Chinese food, and photographer Valerie Chiang (New York TimesW.New York) who will speak about photographing NASA astronaut Stephanie Wilson at the Johnson Space Center.

Join us for a glass of Yering Station wine as we toast to this new issue and the importance of preserving cultures and celebrating difference.
