Get an inside look at the private lives, artistic processes and political struggles of luminaries such as Elizabeth Bishop, Leonard Cohen, Patricia Highsmith, Robert Gottlieb, Pauli Murray, Joyce Carol Oates, Salman Rushdie, Dylan Thomas, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and more. The festival’s keynote conversation will be with My Name is Pauli Murray director Betsy West, on making literary documentaries, filmmaking partnerships and more. Plus, editor Alice Quinn discusses Elizabeth Bishop and the Art of Losing. And as an endnote talk, director Lizzie Gottlieb discusses Turn Every Page, her portrait of her father, famed book editor Robert Gottlieb and his long work with Robert Caro.
