Live@365: Yungchen Lhamo

Yungchen Lhamo (whose name means “Goddess of Melody and Song”) was born and raised in Tibet. After crossing the Himalayas to India on her Buddhist spiritual journey, then moving to Australia, she began to sing prayers of meditation that inspired her first CD, Tibetan Prayer. This launched a career that includes recording on Peter Gabriel’s Real World label; performing with Philip Glass, Natalie Merchant, Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, and many others; and starting a foundation to help Tibetan women and children and others in need. She makes a rare New York appearance in the Live@365 series.
