The Primo Levi Center invites you to discover the life and history of the Jews of Rhodes with “Los Corassones Avlan” (“The Hearts Speak,” from a Sephardi saying), a pop-up multimedia installation opening on October 29th at a 19th-century carriage house on West 4th Street. The exhibition is a fully immersive experience, where the public is invited to explore the little-known story and traditions of the “Rodeslis”, the Jewish community living on the island of Rhodes for many centuries until its destruction in 1944.
Secluded in the heart of the West Village, the venue adds to the experience with its own history, becoming home to roundtables, readings, talks, film and music presentations, gatherings, a place where memories become alive and where to explore the many ways in which we think of history.

Sunday through Thursday: 12 noon to 1:30 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm
Friday: 1 pm to 4 pm
Saturday: 5 pm to 10 pm
Coffee, tea, burekitas and pastry will be served daily during visiting hours. The bar behind the exhibition space is open to the public at night.
Opening reception October 29th, 5pm. Live music will be performed.
