Deutsches Haus at NYU presents a reading and discussion of Kathrin Werner’s new book “Love and Happiness – True Stories of True Love” with the author (the evening will be conducted in English).

True love — the one magical great love, which you live and would die for, which signifies and instills a final sense in everything. This love is the greatest power in the universe even when faced with the most adverse conditions. It is the one love every human being dreams of, and which has been at the heart of some of the biggest and most beautiful movies and books. They exist – they really do – the true great love stories in this world. Kathrin Werner traveled to many countries and wrote down twenty of the most beautiful love stories she encountered abroad and at home. She recounts them in a moving and magical way.

Kathrin Werner is a New York correspondent for the German daily newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung. The award winning journalist grew up in Kassel in the middle of Germany and went on to study law in Hamburg. After earning her degree she switched fields and started at the business newspaper Financial Times Deutschland, first covering energy topics and later becoming its correspondent in New York. After the newspaper shut down she began working for Sueddeutsche Zeitung.“ Liebesglück” is her first book.
