Luis Jaramillo & Mira Jacob

Winner of the Dzanc Short Story Contest, Luis Jaramillo’s story collection The Doctor’s Wife chronicles the small domestic moments, tragic losses, and cultural upheavals faced by three generations of a family in the Pacific Northwest, creating a moving portrait of an American family and the remarkable woman at its center. Luis talks about his book with Mira Jacob, curator of Pete’s Reading Series and former writer for Babble, Yahoo!, Lime.com, and other sites; her own novel, The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing, is forthcoming in 2014.
