MADmakes | MADmakes with Rachel Frank

In celebration of Textile Month, join artist-in-residence Rachel Frank as she leads visitors in creating a sculptural plant using fabric and sewing techniques. This iteration of MADmakes is inspired by Frank’s own artistic practice, which examines issues of environmental awareness and climate change through sculpture and performance. Participants will have the opportunity to work individually and in groups, and their “natural environments” will be placed on view at the Museum throughout the month of September.

MADmakes is a drop-in, hands-on series where visitors can test their skills at art making and creative production. Led by current artists-in-residence, MADmakes offers visitors the opportunity to better understand and appreciate the workmanship that goes into contemporary studio practice today.
