To celebrate the publication day of her 2012 Iowa Short Fiction Prize-winning collection Safe As Houses, 2011 Center for Fiction Emerging Fellow Marie-Helene Bertino will read from the book Jim Shepard called "hilarious and heartbreaking and wildly inventive." Consistently unpredictable, always quirky, sometimes well-accessorized, Marie-Helene will serve refreshments and take questions. She'll be joined for the Q & A by author and One Story editor Hannah Tinti.
