Message From the Library: Molly Crabapple

Award-winning artist, writer and author of Drawing Blood and Brothers of the Gun (with Marwan Hisham) Molly Crabapple has been commissioned by Brooklyn Public Library to present the next Message from the Library lecture.

Message from the Library lectures ask leading cultural figures to reflect on today’s most precarious issues and is part of BPL’s mission to convene diverse voices in the Library’s safe space to have meaningful dialogue about the political, economic, social and cultural issues of the day.

This event is accessible for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Molly Crabapple is an artist and writer in New York. She is the author of two books, Drawing Blood and Brothers of the Gun, (with Marwan Hisham), which was long-listed for a National Book Award in 2018. Her reportage has been published in the New York TimesNew York Review of BooksThe Paris ReviewVanity FairThe GuardianRolling StoneThe New Yorker and elsewhere. Her art is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art. Her animated short “A Message from the Future with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez” has been nominated for an Emmy award in the category of Outstanding News Analysis: Editorial and Opinion.
