Modern Dance 101: Dances by Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn, a program of dances by The Mother and Father and American Modern Dance, will be presented at the Theatre St. Jean Baptiste, 150 East 76th Street.

A stellar company will perform these rarely seen early modern dances, created between 1904 and 1925: PeiJu Chien Pott (Martha Graham Dance Co.), Christine Dakin (former principal Martha Graham Dance Co), David Glista (Limon Dance Co), Valentina Kozlova (former principal dancer Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet), Bradley Shelver (Metropolitan Opera Ballet), Adam Weinert (specialist in the dances created by Ted Shawn for his company of men), dancers from the Limon Institute, and pianist Nathaniel LaNasa.
