Three Rooms Press presents The Monthly–
EXILE ON BRIDGE STREET Launch with author Eamon Loingsigh

Three Rooms Press celebrates the New York launch of the Brooklyn-based Irish gang saga EXILE ON BRIDGE STREET by Eamon Loingsigh with special guest Brooklyn-based author Kathleen Donohoe (Ashes of Fiery Weather).

EXILE ON BRIDGE STREET- The sequel story of the critically acclaimed Light of the Diddicoy follows Irish immigrant Liam Garrity as he struggles to find adulthood in pre-Prohibition Brooklyn. As tensions and violence rise in Ireland, he struggles to find a way to reunite his family in America. Joining a gang in “Irishtown” under the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, he finds himself on the violent Brooklyn waterfront, struggling to find himself while fighting to survive. When a rival gang member vies to take over, Garrity must fight his own war that mirrors the one his family is fighting in Ireland, the home he left behind.

Loingsigh takes readers on a fast-paced adventure through time, blending the beauty and grit of New York with the violent and turbulent reality of the Irish immigrants that came searching for a better life, only to find a new war of their own. This is the second installment in the Auld Irishtown trilogy, but stands alone as a powerful piece of historical fiction.

“In Exile on Bridge Street, Eamon Loingsigh recreates the forgotten world of Irish immigrant New York with a combination of accuracy and drama found only in the best historical fiction” – Tyler Anbinder, professor of history, George Washington University; author, Five Points
