Join us for a panel discussion with the authors of Mothers of Invention, followed by a reception celebrating the opening of the exhibition.
In this landmark book, Eleanor Heartney, Helaine Posner, Nancy Princenthal, and Sue Scott offer a radical rethinking of contemporary art through a feminist lens. Tracing the lineages of performance, abstraction, craft, and ecofeminism, they reveal the profound influence of pioneering women artists on practices that define the field today.
Together, the authors will reflect on the ideas at the heart of the book and exhibition, exploring how feminist artists challenged dominant narratives and helped shape a more expansive, inclusive, and socially engaged art world.
Following the discussion, copies of Mothers of Invention will be available for purchase, with an opportunity to meet the authors and have books signed.
