ABOUT THE SERIES

Author Thomas Beller founded mrbellersneighborhood.com in 2000. The site has been publishing nonfiction stories that take place in New York City for 20 years—slices of life, portraits of memorable characters, scandalous encounters, works of memoir, and heartwarming displays of courage. Contributors include professionals and other writers.

Readers on November 7th are Rachel Cline, Angel Eduardo, Jacob Margolies, JB McGeever, Mai Tran, and Kaarin Von.

Rachel Cline is the author of the novels What to Keep, My Liar, and https://www.rachelcline.com/thequestionauthority (The Question Authority), which is set in Brooklyn Heights, where Rachel grew up and has now returned.

Angel Eduardo is a writer, musician, photographer, and graphic designer in New York City. He He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from CUNY Hunter College and is working on a book-length memoir. More of his work can be found at www.angeleduardo.com.

Jacob Margolies is the Managing Editor of Mr. Beller’s Neighborhood. He is a journalist reporting on American culture and politics for The Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan’s largest newspaper.

JB McGeever has a new collection of essays Small Rooms and Others that was published by Unsolicited Press in the fall of 2019.

Mai Tran is a recent graduate of NYU, and is currently waitressing and living in Brooklyn. She writes nonfiction to publicly flame her exes, and fiction because she is a compulsive liar. You can find her on Twitter @maiittran.

Kaarin Von is an entrepreneur in New York City’s bar and restaurant business. She has written a novel about the revelers and ghosts that haunt a dive bar in the 1990s. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, daughter, two black cats and a Sicilian rescue dog.
