De la Vida Deste Mundo
Música Antiqua Latina

Dating back to the 13th-century large parts of Italy were under the Spanish Aragonese Crown, with its artists immersed in an Hispanic oriented life. Geniuses like Claudio Monteverdi and Antonio Stradivari, Cremonese born masters, unfolded their creative craft under the presence of the Madrid crown, in continuous political turmoil and warfare.

Musica Antiqua Latina, based in Rome, makes its American debut in this concert celebrating the so-called Renaissance quartier in Rome inspired by naturalized Italo-Hispanic artists in Renaissance and Baroque Italy such as Francisco Soto de Langa, castrato singer at the Papal choir; Juan del Encina, priest, playwright and composer in the Leone X pontificate; and Gaspar Sanz, composer, guitarist, and priest.

American debut
Broadcast on WKCR 89.9 FM Friday, December 18
