My Name Is Mohammad

Artist Maryam Monalisa Gharavi is seeking men and boys named Mohammad for a work entitled Life of Mohammad, based at Recess in Fall 2019. The first event of the project takes place on Wednesday, 11 September 2019 at 6:30pm, when we will host a public gathering for Mohammads to reflect on their name: its significance, lineage, personages, and other macro- and micro-histories. Some participants may be approached to participate in a film/video that creates a narrative chronology of Mohammads from birth to old age. Any Mohammads who wish to participate in the public forum and/or film are encouraged to contact [email protected].
