Neighborhood Stories: Voices of Pride

The Neighborhood Stories Project at the New York City Department of Records and Information Services (DORIS) and The Nuyorican Poets Café presents a variety show in honor of Pride, hosted by Andres “Chulisi” Rodriguez.

In the spirit of Pride Month, the event will feature poets, artists, and musicians who will share performances inspired by their lives in the New York City LGBTQ community. Performers include Joanna Hoffman, Saroya Marsh, Felicita “Felli” Maynard, Cheeyang Ng, and Showdolliana. The program will also feature guest speaker Dr. Sheldon Applewhite (BMCC), who will discuss the importance of preserving stories of Pride, and excerpts from the oral history interviews at the heart of the Neighborhood Stories project.
